Taking the 6.4 square kilometers of West Lake as an example, it is equivalent to adding 24 West Lakes to Qinghai over the years. Many people may wonder, why is Qinghai Lake getting bigger and bigger? The main reason for this is due to changes in the environment. Since global warming, the melting of glaciers around the world has accelerated, so a large number of iceberg meltwater poured into Qinghai Lake, resulting in the current situation of the expansion of Qinghai Lake. In fact, the lakes located on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau are basically growing, but the situation in Qinghai is more obvious. In addition, the local precipitation in Qinghai Lake is increasing. According to data, the local precipitation was only more than 300 mm before, but now it has become more than 400 mm.
